Nat A Singh began his career in 1970 as a Medical Technologist at the Central Medical Lab in Guyana, South America. For the next 42 years, he progressed through multiple roles within a laboratory setting, building and developing extensive skills in Medical laboratory technology. Before emigrating to the United States of America, his primary responsibility was in the capacity of a Laboratory Director, managing the daily tasks, staff training & development, and quality control for the seven Sigma locations across Guyana.
Once re-located in the United States, Nat Singh joined the Brunswick Hospital Center Laboratory, working in the Chemistry, Hematology and Blood Banking departments. Nat Singh became a Generalist, a Medical technologist that is competent in all departments of the laboratory, at St. Mary’s Hospital in New Jersey before transitioning to Glen Cove, NSLIJ, functioning in a similar capacity as a Generalist in the departments of Chemistry, Hematology and Blood Banking. Nat Singh currently works as a Technical Laboratory Supervisor at Core Laboratory(St Joseph Hospital), NSLIJ.
He continues to demonstrate his passion and loyalty to this field through his educational efforts to stay appraised of current developments in Medical Laboratory Technology. To date, Nat Singh has completed his Masters in Biomedical Sciences at C W POST of the Long Island University, majoring in Medical Microbiology with a minor in Laboratory
Management and is certified in Chemistry(ASCP) and Hematology(ASCP). In 2011, Nat started a Doctoral program in Education with projected graduation of Spring 2015.
In addition, he has also lectured as an Adjunct Professor in Biomedical Sciences before starting his Ed D program at CW Post, Long Island University, in 2011. Professor Singh is currently teaching Clinical Chemistry at York College in the Biomedical Sciences department and is the Clinical Laboratory Supervisor at NYU Langone Cancer Center.
